I’ve been over to this place a thousand times and it’s simply one of my favourites! I’m absolutely in love with Baba Sus. It’s a bit of a drive from the city, but nothing stops me from having great brunch food! You say ‘brunch’ and I say ‘I’m there!’
And it’s weird because I always feel like a child when I order this- but every time I order my green tea latter I will always request for coffee art. Baba Sus’ signature is usually a teddy bear coffee art but this time I got a cat. A sad looking cat. Maybe the demand of teddy bear coffee art was too damn high.
Crispy pork belly, the portion was a bit too little but other than that, the flavours were just perfect and not too salty for the crackling pork!
Something more simplistic: deep-fried poached eggs with smashed peas on sourdough that was smooth and crunchy at the same time.
When it comes to burgers, I’m particularly picky with how the patty is cooked. In addition, with the other ingredients inside the burger. And this chicken burger with thick cut chips was just average for me, but the taste was just alright – nothing too extraordinary with pieces of lettuce here and there. It was average in a way that was simple, but hey if you like a simply chicken burger then this is the one for you!
And my ultimate favourite… the Hong Kong bubble waffles! Isn’t she a sight for sore eyes! So delicious, yet so pretty. It was juicy, moist and at the same time crunchy and crispy. What is this sorcery? I’ll definitely come back for more… the 1001th time round!!
